Aleya Almansoori

Education

Aleya holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Her artistic practice has grown alongside her academic background, through her love of drawing and her steady involvement in exhibitions across the UAE and abroad.

Exhibitions

Aleya has taken part in many group exhibitions in the UAE and internationally. In the UAE, these include ‘Emirati Illuminations’ at the University of Sharjah, ‘Art World Dubai’, the ‘Innovation and Creativity’ exhibition at the Civil Defence, ‘We Share for Tomorrow’ for Emirati Women’s Day, and the Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition. She also exhibited at the Fine Arts Exhibition held with the first International Conference for Inspiring Arab Women, ‘Inspirers’, and at the Al Jazeera Al Hamra Festival with ‘Art Ras Al Khaimah’. Other exhibitions include ‘Spirit of Culture’ with Khawla Arts and Culture and the Oud Exhibition with the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy. Outside the UAE, she took part in the National Day celebrations at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Moscow. She also showed work in ‘Together We Appear Stronger’ with the Swiss Embassy in Bern for Emirati Women’s Day.

Awards

Aleya received the award for Best Emirati Artist. She was also chosen as an Arts Ambassador, representing the UAE through ‘Art Connect Woman’ and ‘Z Gallery’.

Artistic Style

Aleya’s work draws on both the realist and surrealist schools. Her subjects come from Emirati heritage, and she paints scenes and details from local culture with close attention. She works mainly in oil and acrylic, and drawing remains the base of her practice.

Additional Information

Alongside her art practice, Aleya served as an Innovation Ambassador for the Department of Culture and Tourism. She is an Emirati national and lives in the UAE.
