About the creator
- Anas Abro, born in 1993, is a visual artist based in Hyderabad, Pakistan, known for his expertise in painting, restoration, and graphic design. Over the years, he has made a name for himself both nationally and internationally, showcasing his work in prestigious galleries around the world. Alongside his career as a professional artist, Abro also shares his knowledge as a visiting faculty member at Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro University of Art, Design, and Heritage in Jamshoro, Sindh, where he contributes to art education and inspires upcoming artists.
Education
Abro graduated from the Centre of Excellence in Arts and Design at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, Sindh, in 2015, with a major in Painting. In addition to his formal studies in painting, he pursued training in the restoration of oil paintings and in graphic design, expanding his skill set across both traditional and digital art forms.
Exhibitions and International Recognition
Anas Abro has displayed his artwork extensively, participating in exhibitions at various distinguished galleries worldwide. His international showcases include The Line Contemporary Art Space in London, Itmondo in Spain, and Art4U in Dubai. Within Pakistan, his work has been presented in galleries such as Gallery 6, AQS Gallery, and My Artworld in Islamabad; VM Art Gallery, ArtChowk, Spaces, Full Circle, Artscene, and ArtCiti in Karachi; and Ejaz Art Gallery, O Art Space, and Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore. In 2019, he was selected for the Mauritius International Art Fair, further establishing his global reach as an artist.
Residency Programs and Group Shows
In 2016, Abro participated in the BQ Studio 2nd Artist Residency Program in Lahore, an opportunity that allowed him to collaborate with other artists and exhibit in two group shows titled “24x7.” These exhibitions were held at Saeed Akhtar Studio in Lahore and Satrang Art Gallery at Serena Hotel in Islamabad.
