About the creator
- Anicha Nazim is a self-taught artist whose creative journey began in childhood. Her early talent was recognized through numerous school art contests, and her artwork was featured twice on the cover of her school’s magazine. Despite feeling a profound sense of peace and belonging when creating, societal perceptions led her to pursue a more conventional path. Encouraged by her parents yet influenced by peers who warned her about the struggles of an artistic life, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Public Relations, followed later by an MSc in Clinical Nutrition. Though she developed a deep appreciation for the sciences, her creative spirit remained ever-present. In 2017, a pivotal moment came when one of her paintings was selected for the Jubilee Arts Festival in Lisbon. This experience reignited her connection to her artistic calling and reaffirmed what she had always felt — that art was her true life’s purpose. In 2025, Anicha made the bold decision to become a full-time artist. She will hold her first solo exhibition at the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon, running from November 8th to December 8th. Without any formal artistic training, she paints instinctively, allowing each piece to teach and guide her. Her work is intuitive and deeply personal, often exploring themes of inner transformation, spiritual connection, and the quiet power of self-discovery.
Education
Although she has no formal training in the arts, Anicha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Public Relations and a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition. Her multidisciplinary background brings a unique depth to her art, blending structure and intuition, science and soul.
Artistic Philosophy
Anicha allows each piece to unfold naturally, guided by emotion, intuition, and a deep sense of connection to her life’s purpose. She paints from the heart, exploring themes of love, transformation, and the unseen energies that shape our inner lives. Her process is deeply personal and often meditative, offering a space for healing and self-discovery.
Creative Advocacy
Anicha is a firm believer in living one's truth and embracing creative expression at any stage of life. She actively encourages others to follow their passions and speak through art in all its forms. Her journey is a testament to the power of listening to one's soul and honoring the creative voice within.
Writing & Illustration
In addition to her visual art practice, Anicha is a writer with a special love for children’s literature. She has written three children's books and is currently working on the illustrations, with plans to publish them in the near future. These stories, much like her paintings, are rooted in emotion, imagination, and the desire to inspire.
Curatorial Work
In February 2025, Anicha curated her first group exhibition as part of her volunteer role as Art Coordinator for the ERAC Team (External Relations Art & Culture) at the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon. The exhibition, titled “Live Love & Be Love: All the Colors of Love,” featured the vibrant works of artists Nataly Garcia da Luz and Pedro Dos Reis, and was accompanied by a published collection of their poetry and paintings. The book is available on Amazon.
Upcoming Solo Exhibition
Anicha will hold her first solo exhibition at the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon, running from November 8th to December 8th, 2025. This milestone marks the beginning of her public journey as a full-time artist, offering audiences an intimate look into the works that shaped her transformation and the purpose she now lives by.
