About the creator
- Daria Avdeeva is a Russian-born artist who has lived in the UAE since 1997, where her upbringing amidst a vibrant blend of cultures has deeply influenced her artistic identity. From an early age, she demonstrated a strong passion for drawing and painting, which matured into a disciplined dedication to fine art. Her formal training took place at prestigious institutions in Bulgaria, Italy, and Russia, where she mastered the classical techniques of oil painting—focusing on still life, portraiture, and the human figure. These academic foundations emphasized technical accuracy, compositional balance, and expressive depth. Rooted in classical tradition yet guided by a contemporary vision, Daria’s work bridges the gap between past and present.
Education
Daria holds a multidisciplinary academic background in arts and education. She earned a degree in Painting, Fine Arts, and a Master of Education from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria (2013–2018). She further expanded her international experience by studying Arts and Cultural Management at UIC – International University of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain (2018–2019). Daria also completed intensive programs at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy (2017) and the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, Russia (2016), enriching her classical training and global perspective in the arts.
Exhibitions & Awards
Daria has showcased her work in numerous prestigious art events worldwide, including World Art Dubai (2023, 2024, 2025), The Art of Light and Between Sands and Stars at SAKKU & UPSTAIRS GALLERY (2024–2025), EuropArtFair 2024 in Amsterdam, Beyond Boundaries with Cross Borders Art Gallery (2024), Wanderlust Impressions at Artezaar (2024), and The Design Gallery in Ras Al Khaimah (2024). She has also exhibited in international showcases such as BodySpaces (London, 2023), Secret Spaces (Venice, 2023), and RGB Sky (Milan, 2023) by ITSLIQUID and MADS Gallery, To Be a Woman at KareArt in Sofia (2023), and the Concept Exhibition by Florence Contemporary Gallery (2023). Earlier exhibitions include Reem Gallery and More Café (2023, Dubai), Dada Cultural Bar and the Russian Cultural Center (2016, Sofia), and Dubai International Arts Center (2013). In recognition of her contributions, she received the UAE Realty Award in 2024.
