- I am Dr. Ajit Gadekar, originally from India and currently based in Fujairah, UAE. A self-taught artist, my journey into the world of art began in 2019 with a serendipitous discovery of painting on canvas. Prior to this, I had never wielded brushes or explored paints. Initially drawn to digital art tutorials on YouTube, I stumbled upon traditional canvas painting demonstrations by artists like Bob Ross, whose confidence in the accessibility of art inspired me deeply. Despite initial challenges and setbacks, I persisted, learning techniques from contemporary realism artists. Engaging with colors became a therapeutic outlet, alleviating work-related stress and transforming into a passionate pursuit. Predominantly focused on landscape painting in oil, my process involves layering techniques, often spanning several days per piece. I am captivated by landscapes for their innate depth and resonant symbolism. My artistic style aims for realism while maintaining a painterly balance, striving to create the illusion of light, atmosphere, and perspective on a two-dimensional canvas. Through this journey, I have cultivated a deeper appreciation for the natural world, observing its nuances with newfound clarity. I am deeply grateful for the encouragement and support from those who appreciate my work, which continues to fuel my artistic exploration and growth.
Exhibitions
Dr. Ajit Gadekar has actively showcased his artistic talent in several prestigious exhibitions across Dubai and UAE. His journey includes participation in prominent events such as World Art Dubai at WTC Dubai in 2020, 2021, and March 2022, and The Hotel Show at Dubai WTC in 2021. He also took part in the Special Expo Dubai 2021 Urban Lifestyle Festival "NoFilterDXB" at Dubai Harbour in November 2021, and the Art Exhibition at Picasso Gallery Al Quoz Dubai in October 2022. Notably, Dr. Gadekar demonstrated his skill in live painting events, notably creating an oil medium piece over three days on the largest wall (2.5m x 3.5m) at the Index Show 2022 at Dubai World Trade Centre. His participation extended to a live painting event at the Consulate General of India, Dubai, in August 2022, highlighting his versatility and dedication to the art community.
Awards
One of Dr. Ajit Gadekar's notable achievements includes winning the Best Technique Award at the Artoze Art Competition held in Ajman, UAE, in 2021.
