About the creator
- Eri Farteigh is a mixed media artist who explores the connection between inner emotions and the natural world. Born in Japan and trained at Parsons School of Design (BFA Fashion Design, 2003), her early background in fashion shaped her sensitivity to structure, balance, and materials. After several years working in the fashion industry, she began painting full-time in 2020, initially focusing on realistic portraiture through gallery exhibitions and private commissions in Japan. A major shift in her work followed her move to the United Arab Emirates in 2025, where she felt drawn away from literal imagery and toward the textures, light, and energy of the landscape. Working with acrylics, marble powder, and modeling paste, she builds layered, sculptural surfaces that reflect the complexity of human emotion. Her paintings are expressive yet calm, changing gently with light throughout the day, and are created as quiet spaces for reflection and grounding.
Education
She was born in Japan and earned her BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design in New York in 2003, where she developed a strong foundation in structure, balance, and material sensitivity that continues to inform her artistic practice.
Artistic Style
She is a mixed media artist exploring the relationship between inner emotions and the natural world. Her work has evolved from realistic portraiture to abstract, textured landscapes inspired by light, earth, and the energy of place. Using acrylics, marble powder, and modeling paste, she creates layered, sculptural surfaces that convey depth and emotional complexity while maintaining a calm, meditative presence.
