About the creator

Erin McGee Ferrell

Erin McGee Ferrell is internationally acclaimed for seamlessly blending classical oil painting techniques with cutting-edge technology. By incorporating audio and video chips beneath her painted surfaces, she transforms traditional artworks into immersive, multi-sensory experiences that resonate across generations. In a solo exhibition held in Bahrain during the Annual Spring of Culture, McGee Ferrell presented a dynamic series of interactive paintings inspired by the Formula 1 Grand Prix. In 2024, she also represented the U.S. State Department in Saudi Arabia, where she led discussions on the intersection of artificial intelligence and artistic expression. Her academic background includes degrees from Mount Holyoke College and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has also studied at prestigious institutions including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Maine College of Art, the Art Students League of New York City, and the University of Lagos in Nigeria. Her latest body of work, The Girl and the Horse, draws a poetic connection between her Kentucky roots and her admiration for the Middle East through the symbolism of the Thoroughbred horse. This interactive series made its debut during the Dubai Spring 2025 event.
