- Hosam Nasra is a Syrian visual artist and sculptor based in the United Arab Emirates. His work is rooted in expressionism, with a strong focus on the human figure, especially women. He works across a wide range of sculptural materials, exploring form and emotion through diverse techniques.
Short Biography
Hosam Nasra was born in Damascus, Syria, and developed his artistic practice as a sculptor with a focus on expressive forms. He is a member of the Syrian Artists Union and has been actively involved in exhibitions and artistic events both in Syria and internationally. His works have been collected by the Ministry of Culture as well as private collectors inside and outside Syria. Over the years, he has participated in numerous exhibitions, building a consistent presence within the contemporary sculpture scene.
Exhibitions
Hosam Nasra has participated in a wide range of solo and group exhibitions and artistic events. His solo exhibition took place in 2019 at Hishon Gallery in Latakia, Syria. He has exhibited in group shows including the Small Sculpture Exhibition at Mustafa Ali Gallery, Damascus (2019), and exhibitions at Alif Noon Gallery (2017) and Al Shaab Hall (2009, 2014). He has also taken part in the annual Spring Exhibition and Autumn Exhibition in Syria between 2015 and 2020. His international participation includes exhibitions with Russian artists in Moscow (2022) and the World Culture and Arts Festival in Dubai. In recent years, he has exhibited in group shows at Al Bayt Al Azraq Gallery in Damascus (2021–2024) and Khan Asaad Basha (2024). He has also participated in sculpture symposia such as the Daalba Sculpture Symposium in Tartous (2019) and “On the Road” Art Symposium in Damascus (2020), as well as exhibitions at the Russian Cultural Center (2010, 2011, 2021) and Al Riwaq Al Arabi Gallery (2010).
Awards
Hosam Nasra received the Spring Exhibition Award for Sculpture in 2015 in Syria.

Hosam Nasra works within an expressionist approach, focusing on the human form as a central subject. His sculptures often highlight emotional depth and physical presence, with a particular attention to the figure of the woman.
