Natalia Menshenina

Short Biography

Natalia trained at the Odessa State Art College in Ukraine, where she developed the foundational skills that continue to underpin her figurative practice. She later deepened her training at the Samsara Fine Art Academy, affiliated with the Art Renewal Center. Since relocating to Dubai, she has exhibited in group shows across the UAE and built a collection of works held privately in both Ukraine and the UAE.

Education

Exhibitions

Natalia has participated in two group exhibitions in the UAE: 'Mix of Modern and Classic' at Media One, Dubai, in June 2019, and 'Eastern Coast Nights' at Miramar Al Aqah, Fujairah, in August 2020.

Artistic Style

Natalia works in painting, drawing, and mixed media within the figurative tradition, drawing on impressionist and orientalist references while addressing contemporary themes. Her subjects engage with memory, nostalgia, identity, and the passage of time, as well as present-day concerns around social and environmental justice. The human figure serves as both subject and vehicle, allowing her to explore the emotional and psychological complexity of lived experience. Her practice is characterized by continual experimentation, seeking to capture fleeting moments and states of feeling while inviting the viewer into a deeper engagement with their own experience of the world.
