Short Biography

Born on June 28, 1986, Rajasekhar Tippana developed an early interest in art and experimentation with materials. His practice began with tactile mixed-media works using wood, sunmica, wooden fragments, and everyday objects. Over time, his focus shifted toward digital art, where he found new ways to express fantasy-driven ideas and personal visual narratives. His works have received recognition in national exhibitions and competitions, reflecting a steady evolution from material exploration to digitally driven surreal imagery.

Education

He completed both his BFA and MFA in Fine Arts at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He also earned a Diploma in Multimedia and Graphic Design, which supported his transition into digital art and expanded his technical approach.

Exhibitions

His works have been presented in national and international exhibitions, including shows at Lalit Kala Akademi, The Bombay Art Society, Emami Chisel Art Gallery, AIFACS, Birla Academy of Art & Culture, and the CIMA Awards. International participation includes exhibitions in Norway, Japan, New York, Nepal, and several major Indian art events and biennales.

Awards

He received the All India Gold Medal Award for Digital Art from the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation in 2018, along with a Merit Award for Digital Art (South Zone) from the same foundation in 2017. He also earned the Arnawaz Vasudev Charities Scholarship in Bangalore and additional recognition through national digital art exhibitions.

Artistic Style

His recent work draws strong inspiration from Salvador Dalí and the surrealist tradition. Tippana often reimagines Dalí as a character within playful, dreamlike scenes involving animals and unexpected situations. Through painting, digital art, and serigraphy, he combines bold outlines, pop-influenced color palettes, and textured patterns. His imagery blends humor, fantasy, and symbolic storytelling, where everyday moments shift into imaginative, surreal experiences.
