Reed Almail didn’t start photography with a plan in mind. It began with a feeling, a quiet curiosity about light, silence, and the small, fleeting moments most people pass by without noticing.

Growing up in Sharjah, she was naturally drawn to these details, shadows on a wall, a pause in movement, an expression that appears for just a second and disappears. These are the moments she holds onto through her work.

A big source of inspiration for her is Shaikha Jassim Mohammad Mubarak Al Suwaidi. Her legacy shaped the way Reed sees photography, not just as taking pictures, but as a way of holding onto feelings, stories, and memories over time.

Reed’s process isn’t rigid. Sometimes she plans, but often she simply lets things unfold. She follows the light, the mood, the moment.

She doesn’t try to force a story, she waits for it to come to her.
