- Dr. Reem Osama is a consultant eye surgeon with a deep, unwavering passion for art. Balancing a career in medicine with her artistic pursuits has been both a challenging and rewarding journey, forming the essence of who she is. She launched her business in 2015, initially starting with furniture flips before evolving to create bespoke pieces tailored to her clients’ needs. Over time, her focus shifted toward her true passion: crafting storytelling furniture, each piece carrying a powerful inspirational theme. Dr. Osama treats her work as original art, never recreating designs. Using beech wood and acrylics, she hand paints each piece without stencils or image transfers. To ensure long-lasting beauty and ease of maintenance, all her creations are sealed with a durable top coat.
Education
Reem Osama graduated with honors from Ain Shams University, Cairo, in 2008, where she studied at the Faculty of Medicine. She later pursued a Master’s and Doctorate degree in Ophthalmology, both completed in 2019. Additionally, she earned a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2019.
Exhibitions
Reem Osama has exhibited her furniture in some of Egypt’s most renowned galleries, including Tagoury’s House. In 2016, she showcased her work under a different gallery’s name. She also participated in The Design Show in June 2022, presenting her creations under her own brand, "Reem Osama Art." This event is the largest design fair held annually in Egypt.
