About the creator
Sanili
- Sanili Saha is a Dubai-based visual artist, educator, and corporate communication coach, originally from Calcutta. Sanili first picked up a sketchbook and colours at the age of seven, beginning a creative relationship that has continued to grow and evolve with her. Her practice explores identity, interconnectedness, and transformation through abstraction, figurative expression, and mixed media, working intuitively with acrylic, collage, texture, recycled materials, and found fragments. She believes, each one of us has a ‘story’ to tell through which we rediscover and recreate ourselves at every stage. Life remains her greatest muse with all its chaos and rhythm, unexpected turns, and infinite capacity for renewal and transformation and it is these fragments of life, its emotions, memories, chaos, and beauty that she instinctively carries onto her canvases, allowing each work to tell its own story.
Short Biography
Sanili first picked up a sketchbook at the age of seven in Calcutta and has developed her artistic practice entirely through self-guided learning, travel, and encounters with diverse cultures. She holds an MA in English, postgraduate studies in Mass Communication, and a TESOL certification, and has undertaken professional development with the British Council and through Harvard Medical School's programmes in positive psychology and wellbeing. Alongside her art practice, she brings over a decade of experience across the education, corporate, and government sectors as a communication coach. Her practice of acroyoga, with its interplay of movement, balance, trust, and energy, informs the dynamic rhythm of her work. She has exhibited across the UAE and internationally, and contributes published writing on art and social causes.

Artistic Style
Sanili's practice is rooted in the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai and functions as a spiritual discipline through which she reflects on imperfection, contradiction, transition, and possibility. She works intuitively across abstraction, figurative expression, and mixed media, building pieces through layers of acrylic, collage, texture, recycled materials, and found fragments. Each work evolves through uncertainty and discovery rather than predetermined composition. The influence of her practice of acroyoga, her travels, and her engagement with language and poetry all feed into a visual vocabulary that treats lived experience as primary material.
