- Sedra Al Mansoori, born in 1996, is an accomplished graphic designer and ceramics artist with a profound commitment to artistic expression. Holding a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Multimedia Design from Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, Sedra's creative journey extends into the realm of ceramics, where she explores diverse techniques to shape exquisite cups, vases, and sculptures. Her artistic philosophy revolves around presenting pieces in distinctive yet authentic forms, accentuating the innate beauty of natural clay. Inspired by shapes and a deep appreciation for the beauty found in imperfections, Sedra's work captures a harmonious interplay between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics. In addition to her individual artistic pursuits, Sedra is a co-founder of AlReeshah Studio, an artist-run space nestled in the outskirts of Al Falah, Abu Dhabi.
Education
Sedra Al Mansoori pursued her Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Design at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 2014 to 2019. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Research in Management (MRes) from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, UK, from 2022 to 2023.
Work experience
In 2019, Sedra Al Mansoori worked as a graphic designer for the Abu Dhabi Distribution Company and volunteered as a graphic designer for four months. She co-founded Al Reesha Studio in 2021, where she serves as a ceramic artist; the studio can be found on Instagram at alreeshah_. From 2020 to 2022, she was a graphic designer and communication officer for the Human Resources Authority in Abu Dhabi, UAE, as part of their training for work program, a role she held for one year and six months. She also worked as a graphic designer for Laqtah Company from 2019 to 2020. From 2020 to 2023, Sedra founded and ran The Design Studio, providing design and branding services online (Instagram: thedesignstudio.ae) and also established a handmade ceramics shop (Instagram: ss.ceramicss).
Exhibitions
Sedra Al Mansoori has participated in numerous exhibitions, showcasing and selling her artworks. In 2024, she exhibited at the Sikka Art & Design Festival in Dubai, UAE. In 2023, she showcased her work with Al Reesha Studio at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and also exhibited at Comic Con in Abu Dhabi. In 2022, she participated in the Maritime Heritage Festival, Comic Con, and Qouz Art Festival by Alserkal in Dubai, UAE. Her 2021 exhibitions include Cl-U and the Al Hosn Festival, both in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Art Commission
In 2024, Sedra Al Mansoori created 20 handmade ceramic cups for Tqahwa Specialty Coffee in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In 2022, she produced 60 handmade ceramic cups for the Maritime Heritage Festival in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
