About the creator
- I am a self-taught artist and have been passionate about art since childhood. During my school days, my main hobby was creating a painting almost every weekend and displaying it in the classroom. Initially, my interest was in landscapes, then portraits, and I finally landed in abstract art. I primarily work with watercolors and acrylic paints and later transitioned to oil paints. While pursuing my graduation in India in 1988, I organized a solo exhibition on my college campus and received immense appreciation from professors and students. I am an accounts professional and have been living in Dubai since 1996. During a holiday in 2002, I saw a picture in the Gulf News that inspired me to start painting again. This led to the creation of “A Diamond in the Sky,” a tribute to my father who passed away in 1996. It was my first painting in the UAE after a fifteen-year interval. I realized that painting brings me peace and serves as a de-stress tool. Unknowingly, most of my paintings are finished with blue and white tints, as they radiate calmness; examples include “Peace be with you” and “Reflections of the Subconscious Mind.” Through my art, I aim to evoke emotions in the viewer, mirroring the feelings I experience when creating.
Exhibitions
I have participated in several art exhibitions in the UAE. The latest one was at the Consulate General of India, Dubai, on 20th August 2022, where my virtual 3D oil painting, “Vision,” received much appreciation. I have also completed numerous commissioned works, including a piece for a church in Sharjah. My latest oil painting is “Rain in Sharjah - March 2024.
