Tina Azar
- Tina Azar is a Lebanese self-taught contemporary abstract artist born in 1974, based in Dubai. Working primarily with acrylic, heavy impasto, mixed media, and gold and copper leaf, she creates richly textured paintings that explore resilience, hope, transformation, and the tension between stillness and movement. Short Biography
Tina holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and a Master's degree in Marketing from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, and spent fifteen years working across administrative and marketing roles before serving as Managing Director of Seeds Club, a women's empowerment group, from 2022 to 2024. She began her studio practice in contemporary abstract art in 2025, developing independently through focused self-directed study. Since then, she has exhibited in group shows in Dubai and internationally, and has been featured in several artist interviews connected to her exhibition participations.
Education
Tina holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and a Master's degree in Marketing from Saint Joseph University, Beirut (1996). Her artistic development has been entirely self-directed, beginning in 2025 with focused study in abstraction, composition, color, impasto techniques, mixed media, and metallic-leaf application.
Exhibitions
Tina has participated in four exhibitions and artistic initiatives in 2026: 'Her Story: A Tribute to Women', a group exhibition presented by Art for U Gallery, Dubai (May 2026); 'Our Planet Our Future', a group exhibition presented by Art for U Gallery, Dubai (June 2026); 'Between Spaces', an online group exhibition (August 2026); and the World Ocean Day Artistic Campaign, an international art campaign organized by Art International (2026).
Artistic Style
Tina works in atmospheric abstraction, building surfaces through palette-knife texture, modelling paste, marble dust, pumice, glazing, and gold or copper leaf. The physical act of layering, scraping, and revealing is central to her practice, producing paintings that carry both raw surface quality and a refined luminosity. Horizons, light, and interior movement are recurring visual concerns, and her work consistently circles themes of resilience, transformation, memory, and the relationship between stillness and change. For Tina, a painting should be experienced as much through its physical presence as through its visual qualities.
