Wardah Asad
- Wardah Asad is a Pakistani visual artist born in 2004, based in the UAE, where she has lived her entire life. She works primarily in portraiture, creating original artworks and commissioned pieces that aim to capture the personality, emotion, and individual character of each subject.
Short Biography
Wardah developed a love for art from a young age and decided to pursue it professionally after completing secondary school. She has trained in oil painting portraiture at Al Qattara Art Centre in Al Ain alongside certifications in graphic design and social media marketing. Since 2024, she has exhibited actively across the UAE, received international recognition through juried competitions in the United States, and been featured in Gulf Today on multiple occasions. She has conducted art workshops for children with special needs and as part of exhibition programmes, and continues to take on commissioned work.
Education
Wardah completed her Secondary Education at Al Manahil Private School, Al Ain, UAE in 2020, and her Higher Secondary Education at Superior College, Lahore, Pakistan between 2021 and 2023. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business and Information Technology. Her art training includes a certification in oil painting portraiture from Al Qattara Art Centre, Al Ain, alongside certifications in Graphic Design and Social Media Marketing from NS Training Centre, and E-commerce Business from Tech Mentor.
Exhibitions
Wardah has exhibited across the UAE since 2024. Her participations include 'Proud of UAE' at Noor Gallery, Dubai (2026); the Eid Al Etihad Exhibition, Umm Al Quwain (2025); the Largest Small Canvas Art Exhibition, Dubai, a world record event (2025); the Women's Day Exhibition at Noor Royal Gallery, Dubai (2024); Art in Pink, Pinktober, Dubai (2024); the Funun Arts Group Exhibition, Dubai (2024); the Eid Al Etihad Exhibition at Novotel, Sharjah (2024); the Rotating Art Show at Dubai International Art Centre (2024); and 'Colors of Unity' at Reem Art Gallery, Dubai (2024).
Awards
Wardah received two Honourable Mentions in international juried art competitions in the United States in 2024, including the 8th Color International Juried Competition, and received the Mixed Media Art Award from Dubai International Art Centre, Dubai.
Artistic Style
Wardah's practice centres on portraiture, approached as a means of capturing personality and emotional depth rather than producing straightforward likeness. Her sold originals, including works such as 'Prayers', 'Nazar', 'Strength', 'Ramadan Nights', and 'The Shahadah', reflect a consistent engagement with identity, spirituality, and personal narrative. She works across oil painting and mixed media, drawing on the cultural diversity of her UAE upbringing as a sustained source of inspiration.
