Open Call: Apply for studio space in Arts Square, Sharjah

Sharjah Art Foundation's Studio Programme invites artists and creative practitioners at all career stages to apply for short- and long-term studio spaces within Arts Square, Sharjah. Two facilities are available: the Collections Building and Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, both situated within walking distance of Sharjah Art Institute, Sharjah Art Museum, and Al Mureijah Square. The Collections Building offers first-floor studios with access to a shared pantry and communal space; medium studios (approximately 6.00 × 8.45 × 4.10 m) are available at AED 1,200 per month, with four units, and small studios (approximately 4.00 × 6.00 × 4.10 m) at AED 800 per month, with four units available. Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, a restored nineteenth-century creek-side merchant's residence now serving as a cultural venue, comprises ground-floor studio spaces, residential apartments, and a central courtyard; standard studios (approximately 3.00 × 8.00 × 3.10 m) are available at AED 1,000 per month for a three-month lease period from October to December 2026, with two units available. These spaces are designed to support artistic research, experimentation, and production. Eligibility is restricted to UAE-based artists and creative practitioners. Applicants must submit a portfolio of recent work and a curriculum vitae not exceeding two pages. The application deadline is 10 September 2026 at 11:59 pm UAE time (GMT+4).
