Inspired by Gustave Courbet and the realism with a touch of innovative modernism, this work presents a verdant landscape of remarkable depth. The composition privileges honest observation: dense foreground foliage recedes into a luminous mid-ground, constructed through layered tones and tactile brushwork. In relation to our Master Class the painting demonstrates how close study of nature—rendered without artifice—can convert perception into a transformed visual language, where space itself becomes the subject and catalyst of meaning.
