Our Animal Friends is a unique art exhibition that remembers animals and serves as a reminder that we coexist within a vital interconnected ecosystem. The reason for selecting these three animals is to highlight the fact that they are among the most vulnerable and suffering animals in Pakistan. By featuring donkeys, cats, and dogs, the exhibition aims to shed light on the challenges and hardships these animals often face in their daily lives, encouraging awareness and care toward their plight. The human figure represents us, people, and our responsibility to take care of our planet and all the creatures living on it. The green plant background symbolizes that we are all part of the same planet and its interconnected ecosystem. These figures are made with lots of care and attention to detail. The donkey in art shows hardworking donkeys in Pakistan, carrying heavy loads without much love and care. The cat figure represents street cats who are clever but face many challenges. The dog figure reminds us of street dogs, loyal and loving, yet sometimes misunderstood. The art highlights their spirits and the need to be kind to them, teaching us about care for these animals. As both an animal lover and a textile designer, I use a mix of artistic techniques in which my primary focus is on utilizing fabric manipulation, along with the incorporation of beads, threads and exploring different fabrications to convey a powerful story.
