Description
Dated back to the Baroque era 15th-16th century, showcasing a panorama of the countryside. The sun has already sunk, behind a grove next to the river you can see the reflections. The sky is covered with clouds, they are mobile and resemble gold in color. They look as soft as feather pillows and light as feathers. Under the sky is an ordinary rural landscape. A shallow river flows between the gentle banks. The wind moves the trees. Grazing cows and sheep, a man on a cart horses. Peasant girls returning to the village - barefoot, tanned, in simple dresses, with veils on their heads. They carry forks and trees. During the war in Syria, I was forced to leave my house with all my belongings behind. After years of anguish, I decided to come back and see my house. I was devastated to see all my life efforts and works were now simply rubbles and ashes. Miraculously, I found it along with 4 others of my paintings only surviving which somehow brought me an unexpected joy in this misery. I was ecstatic to the point about forgetting the situation. I took them off the ground and carried them on my back across miles to my new shelter passing through several checkpoints. The paintings were badly damaged and it took me more than 150h to restore it. Since then I vouched to continue painting to remind me of that little moment of happiness in such a dark moment of my life.
