Description
My work focuses on exploring human nature and the inner self, especially the longing and desire for a lover. I was inspired by the mystical poetry of Sufi saints like Hafiz, Rumi, and Shams-e-Tabriz, who often used wine as a symbol to express love and spirituality. In my art, I try to capture those same feelings—desire, longing, and a deep spiritual connection—through visual storytelling. Just as the poets used wine, I use the female form as my subject, which I find most fascinating and powerful. I work in a style called Neo-miniature art, combining traditional techniques with a modern twist. I start with a rough sketch, transfer it onto watercolor paper using graphite pencil and tracing paper, then go over it with a brush using the "Siyah Qalam" or "black pen" method. After removing the pencil lines, I build up layers of watercolor washes, treating the paper carefully so the colors last and blend smoothly. I finish with a technique called "Pardakht," which means adding fine, detailed strokes. This process takes weeks, as I slowly bring each piece to life with care and patience.
