In Inherited Lines, symmetry extends beyond the artworks themselves and shapes the curatorial layout of the exhibition. Through intentional alignments, visual pairings, and balanced spatial intervals, the exhibition mirrors the internal structure of calligraphic scripts. By carrying symmetry from text to space, Inherited Lines presents Arabic calligraphy as both visual language and structural framework, an inherited system of order that continues to evolve, connecting tradition with contemporary perspectives.
يقف الخط العربي عند ملتقى اللغة والتراث والتعبير الفني. فمن خلال قرون من الممارسة المنضبطة، يحوّل الكلمة المكتوبة إلى إيقاع وتناسب وانسجام بصري. وفي صميم هذا التقليد يحضر التماثل لا بوصفه تناظرًا مرئيًا أو زخرفة هندسية فحسب، بل بوصفه ميزانًا دقيقًا داخل الحرف ذاته؛ حيث تتوازن الكتلة والفراغ، وتقوم المساحات الموجبة والسالبة على تعادل محسوب.
في «خطوط متوارثة» يمتد مفهوم التماثل إلى ما وراء الأعمال ليشكّل التخطيط القيّمي للمعرض. فمن خلال محاذاة مقصودة، وثنائيات بصرية، وفواصل مكانية متوازنة، يعكس المعرض البنية الداخلية للخطوط وأنظمتها. ومع حركة الزائر في الفضاء، يواجه إيقاعًا بصريًا يستعيد المنطق التركيبي للأعمال المعروضة.
وبنقل التماثل من النص إلى الفضاء، يقدم «خطوط متوارثة» الخط العربي بوصفه لغة بصرية وبنية تنظيمية في آنٍ واحد؛ نظامًا موروثًا من الانضباط والقياس ما يزال يتطور، رابطًا بين التقليد والرؤى المعاصرة.
Inherited Lines Arabic Calligraphy as Visual Language and Spatial Harmony
You are warmly invited to the opening of Inherited Lines on 12 March from 9:00 to 11:00 PM. The exhibition will be on view until 29 March. an exhibition exploring Arabic calligraphy as both visual language and spatial harmony, where symmetry moves from text to space. Organized on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the exhibition is presented by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority in collaboration with Alliance Française Dubai, the French cultural centre operating under the sponsorship of the French Consulate in Dubai, and curated and coordinated by DiarBid ArtHouse. Inherited Lines features a curated selection of works by DiarBid calligraphy artists, established professional calligraphers and instructors, alongside selected pieces by students from last year’s Arabic Calligraphy Program led by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.
يسعدنا دعوتكم لحضور افتتاح معرض “خطوط موروثة”، الذي يستكشف فنّ الخط العربي بوصفه لغةً بصريةً يتجلّى فيها التناغم بين الحرف والمساحة، وبين الكتلة والفراغ، حيث يظهر هذا التوازن جليًّا في تكوين الحروف وتوزيعها داخل المساحة الفنية، يأتي تنظيم المعرض تزامنًا مع شهر رمضان المبارك، ويُقام بتنظيم هيئة الثقافة والفنون في دبي، بالتعاون مع Alliance Française Dubai، وبتنسيق وإشراف DiarBid ArtHouse. يضمّ المعرض مجموعةً مختارةً من أعمال فناني الخط في دياربد، إلى جانب نخبةٍ من الخطاطين المحترفين والمدرّسين، بالإضافة إلى أعمالٍ مميّزةٍ لطلبة برنامج الخط العربي الذي أُقيم العام الماضي بإشراف هيئة الثقافة والفنون في دبي.
