Description

This sculpture explores the tension between the visible and the hidden, the material and the spiritual. A plaster cube, split in two, encloses a gold-leafed clay sphere. A core protected, yet concealed. Within the hollowed cube walls, engraved Arabic calligraphy forms a sacred boundary around the heart of the piece, evoking devotion and mystery. Inspired by the geometric precision of early Kufic script, the sculpture speaks through both form and language, balancing architectural solidity with inner stillness. The contrast between angular and organic shapes echoes the duality of outer life and inner essence. Crafted from timeless materials used across cultures — clay, plaster, gold — the work honours ancestral hands and traditions. It becomes a vessel of memory and meaning, inviting reflection on what lies beneath the surface and celebrating the silent dialogues between past and present, body and soul.
